The abacus shows the “standard” measurements of the hatches available in stock, according to product type. Standard heights relate to 3mt, measured from the floor to the ceiling (level of the landing for Wall and Palco).
The hatch panel must not undergo changes if not for aesthetic reasons of painting. For chipboard hatch panel, we suggest applying a coat of cementite and not using water based paints.
The stairs are subject to statutory warranties and are covered by third-party liability insurance on the product.
The retractable stairs are fastened to the attic by means of brackets with predetermined length. The stairs adapt to a maximum floor thickness of up to 28 cm. Should your measurements exceed those indicated, you need to ask for small threaded rods for prolonged fastening. If necessary, contact the manufacturer.
No, the stairs are mechanically positioned, all you need is a spirit level, a Phillips screwdriver and an 8 and 10 mm Allen key. To carry out operations safely, it is advisable to use the aid of a traditional stepladder. Once the stairs have been placed in the attic opening, you can start using them.
SCARI loft ladders are designed for use in residential environments, they are not suitable for industrial installations. For any installation in work environments, we specifically suggest the 4 section folding loft ladder (4Pz) in the widest measurements, in order to allow easy access to the upper floor (70×120 cm and 70×130 cm).
After having laid the floors
No. SCARI loft ladders are subjected to functional tests when they leave production, already adequately pre-tensioned. They do not require any lubrication to the mechanisms and lever systems that could change the previously established status.
No, the retractable stairs must never be walled up to the slab, but should be fixed with the supplied brackets only.
Yes. Each retractable stairs has a detailed instructions sheet to guide you during all phases of assembly. Do not modify or disassemble the stairs without authorisation from the manufacturer. Inclination of the open stairs must not be less than 65° to the ground. During installation, ensure that the hatch is perfectly levelled (0° PANTO, 4Pz, TERRACE, or 90° WALL, PALCO) in order to avoid faulty functioning of the opening and closing mechanisms of the loft ladder.
We categorically do not recommend individual initiatives since they may lead to unpleasant and dangerous problems.
Upon request, only for the model with 4 pieces of 70×130 cm a maximum height of 4 metres can be reached.
All the loft ladders are built to operate with a predetermined inclination of approximately 65°, as specified by the norm UNI 14975. For this reason, it is necessary to know the floor- to-ceiling height and to provide for an adequate adjustment. The scissor loft ladder (PANTO) is adaptable for floor-to- ceiling heights from 2.5m to 3m. The adjustment is carried out without price increases.
The 4 section folding loft ladder (4Pz), built with a standard height of 3 m, can be adapted to the required height of the room by cutting the last piece according to the attached diagram, which you can do yourself, or have done directly by the company with a slight increase in price.
SCARI SCALE is not liable for any damage due to changes made without the authorization of the manufacturer.
150 kg. This value is certified by UNI EN 14975 and refers to passing a fatigue test on a sample loft ladder.
Cement attics are not a problem. Should you have a wooden floor, we recommend fixing the stairs as close to the beams as possible and preparing a frame with a minimum height of 16 cm to which the iron box of the stairs will be anchored. If required, you can ask the manufacturer for advice. DO NOT INSTALL ON CEILINGS IN PLASTERbOARD.
You need to know the height from the floor to the attic, and the thickness of the floor.
Retractable stairs for attics require an opening of at least 170 cm (the measurement refers to the extension developed between the foot of the loft ladder and the outermost point of the hatch in the opening phase for a loft ladder measuring 300 cm floor-to-ceiling, also taking into account the presence of the operator. For smaller sizes, the extension is roughly the same). For safety reasons it is recommended not to install the products near drop-offs over the floor of the supporting surface (ex. in the vicinity of stairwells), on slippery floors or in the presence of other forms of disconnection of the support surface.
The same as the stair. They refer to the exact measurements to ensure that the frame of the attic ladder enters perfectly into the opening and corresponds approximately to the measurement of the hatch (base measurement for depth, where the base means the side parallel to the rung supporting the tread).
